【国際コース】　「Communication」授業　～英語で学ぶ経済学～

　今月の「Communication」授業では、上級レベルの生徒が大学入門の経済学を学んでいます。
　今週は、標準的な経済学と行動経済学の違いに焦点を当てました。行動経済学は、人がなぜお金の使い方について不合理な決断をすることがあるのかを探るために行われたエキサイティングな実験がたくさんあるので、勉強していて楽しいものです。私たちは、人はしばしば直近の過去の経験に基づいて意思決定をすることがあり、それが金銭的な判断を誤らせることがあることを学びました。経済学は難しいテーマのように思えるかもしれませんが、生徒が経済学の考え方を自分の生活やお金の使い方と結びつけることができれば、より興味深く生き生きとした学びになります。

This month in the communication skills class, the higher level English students are studying university entry level economics. This week we focused on the difference between standard economics and behavioral economics. Behavioral economics is fun to study because there are many exciting experiments which have been done to explore why people sometimes make irrational decisions about spending their money. We learned that often times people will base their decisions on their most recent past experiences and this can lead people to making poor financial decisions. Perhaps economics can seem like a difficult topic, but when students can connect ideas in economics to their own lives and even how they spend money themselves, the subject of economics becomes much more interesting and alive!
