【国際コース】　「Communication」授業　～すごろくで英語発音を練習しよう！～

　本日の「Communication」授業では、日本語話者にとって問題になる英語発音をたくさん練習しました。

　まずは「th」の発音で、濁りの有無に関わる発音の違い、そしてカタカナ風な発音にすると意味が変わってしまうという話に踏まえて、お互いに丁寧な指摘をしながら例文を使って練習をしました。

　次は「R対L」の問題でした。どちらも日本語の中に存在しないで、どちらも「ラリルレロ」という風になってしまったら意味も不明になってしまう話に検討した上、またお互いに練習をしました。

　最後に、その二つの発音の正しいしかたがさらに身につくために、一コマ一コマがその発音を使っている言葉となっているすごろくゲームをやりました。難しい発音の練習でも楽しくできました！

In today’s Communication Skills class, we practiced some English pronunciation points that often cause problems for Japanese speakers. First, we looked at the “th” sound, practicing the difference between voiced and unvoiced sounds and problems that occur when these are pronounced using Japanese katakana, then we practiced using some example words. After that we looked at the difference between “r” and “l” and how they are both different from the Japanese “ra, ri, ru, re, ro” pronunciation. After practicing everything, in order for students to internalize what they had practiced we played a board game where the object was to practice the pronunciations that we had looked at in the class. In this way we were able to practice some very difficult points of pronunciation in a fun and effective way.
