【国際コース】　英語の４技能ってなに？

　国際コースでは、すべての生徒がリスニング、スピーキング、リーディング、ライティングのスキルをバランスよく使えるように心がけています。これにより、対面での会話、インスタグラムでのメッセージ送信、オンラインゲームでの戦略立案など、英語を使うあらゆる場面でコミュニケーションが取れるようになります。

　当コースでは、週に2時間コミュニケーション・スキルの授業があります。この授業では、生徒同士が（話すか書くかのどちらかで）コミュニケーションをとりながら、課題をクリアしたり、プロジェクトに取り組んだりします。昨年度は自分自身についてのVlogを作ったり、健康アンケートを作ったり、自分の興味のある分野のオリジナル研究の展示会を開いたりしました。ただ英語を練習するためにコミュニケーションをとるのではなく、実際に何かを成し遂げるためにコミュニケーションをとる。このようにして、生徒たちは英語を学ぶだけでなく、自分たちの周りの世界に良い影響を与えることができるのです。

In the International Course, we try to make sure that all the students are using their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in a balanced way. This ensures that they can communicate if they are talking face-to-face, sending messages on Instagram, planning strategies while playing online gaming, or any other way they might use English. In our course, students have 2 hours a week of Communication Skills class. In this class students have to communicate with each other (either through speaking or writing) to complete a task or work on a project. For example, this year students created a vlog about themselves, made a health survey, and even held an exhibition of original research in their own area of interest. Instead of just communicating to practice English, students are communicating to actually get something done. And in this way, students not only learn English, but also get to have a positive impact on the world around them.
