【国際コース】　楽しく英語の本を読みましょう　

　多くの学校では、生徒は通常、英語の論文を読むだけで、その論文はすべて先生が選び、指定します。

　しかし、クラーク札幌大通校の国際コースでは、生徒は記事を読むだけでなく、本も読みます。しかも、読みたい本を自分で選ぶことができます。札幌大通校には、600冊を超える洋書が完備されています。ハリー・ポッターシリーズや医学・生物学の本、さらには日本の漫画の翻訳本もあります。
　生徒たちは、自分で本を選べるので、「英語の本を読んでいると、学校の勉強をしているような気がしない」と言います。今では、国際コースの生徒の多くが、自由な時間に英語の本を読んでいます。そして、読んでいる本について、生徒同士でよく話し合っているそうです。

　英語の本を読むのが楽しくて仕方がない、という生徒たちの姿は、とても素晴らしいことだと思います！

In many high schools, students usually only read English articles, and all the articles are chosen and assigned by the teacher. But in the International Course at Clark Sapporo-Odori Campus, students don’t just read articles, they read books. And they get to select the books that they want to read by themselves. The Sapporo-Odori Campus has an English library with over 600 books. The library contains the Harry Potter series, books about medicine and biology, and even Japanese manga translated into English. According to student feedback, because they get to choose books by themselves , “reading English books doesn’t feel like doing school work.” Now, many of the International Course students read English books in their free time. And they often talk with each other about the books that they are reading. It is an amazing thing to watch students who read English books because it is a fun thing to do!
