【国際コース】　「CLIL」授業　～セサミストリートから遺伝子学へ？～

　国際コースの生徒は、「CLIL」（Content and Language Integrated Learning – 内容と言語の統合学習）授業を実施しています。今学期のCLIL授業内容は、「Introduction to Anthropology」（人類学入門）。大学院で「文化人類学」を専門として研究をしていたジェームス先生が、大学で行われるレクチャーのように授業をして、英語能力をレベルアップしながら、将来の教育生活に役に立つ体験もできます。
　今日の授業では、世界中で有名なアメリカの子供番組、「セサミストリート」の動画でも見て、遺伝子や進化についてのレクチャーを踏まえて、「人間とは何か」をテーマにして英語でディスカッションをしました。皆よく頑張りました！

The International Course’s Level 3 students take “CLIL” (Content and Language Integrated Learning) lessons as part of their Communication Skills class. This semester’s CLIL class is “Introduction to Anthropology.” Our International Course teacher, James, who has done post-graduate research in the field of Cultural Anthropology, teaches the class in a university lecture style. This means that students can gain invaluable experience for their future educational pursuits, all while improving their English skills. In today’s class, we went from watching a clip from Sesame Street, to a lecture on genetics and evolution, to a class discussion (in English) on what “what are humans?” Good job, everyone!
