【国際コース】　「Drama」授業　～体を動かして、英語を学ぶ！～

　下の写真では、生徒たちが少しぼやけて見えるかもしれません。それは、生徒たちが動いているからです。「Drama」の授業では、主人公の一人が体調を崩してトイレに駆け込むシーンを練習していました。このシーンは、現在クラスで練習している劇の中で最も活発なシーンのひとつです。

　外国語を学んでいる間、体を動かしたりジェスチャーを使ったりする生徒の方が、伝統的な方法で英語を学ぶ生徒よりも、より早くその言語を習得し、より流暢に話すことができるということを示す研究がたくさんあります。だからこそ、ドラマ・クラスはとても重要です。1回50分のクラスで、生徒は大量の英語を学び、流暢に話すことができます！

　また、面白いシーンを演じるのも楽しく、皆が笑顔で授業をしています。今年生徒たちが使っている劇では、銀行強盗をしたり、初デートをしたり、有名な映画女優の髪をスタイリングしたりするシーンを演じることができます。

In our Drama Class yesterday, students were practicing a scene in which one of the main characters is sick and has to keep running to the bathroom. It is one of the most active scenes in the play that the students are currently practicing in class.

There is a lot of research that show that students who move and use gestures while learning a foreign language, learn the language faster and can speak more fluently than students who learn English in a more traditional way. That is why the Drama Class is so important. In one 40 minute class, students can learn and speak a large amount of English with a high level of fluency!

It is also fun to act our interesting scenes. In the play the students are using this year, students get to act out scenes where they are robbing banks, having a first date, and even styling the hair of a famous movie actress.
