【学習】「英語コミュニケーションI」授業 ～身体を動かすと言葉が身につく～
本日の「英語コミュニケーションI」（1年生）という授業では、教科書にボリビアにあるウユニ塩湖についての話が出てきました。文章の中で様々な難しい英単語がありましたが、スマホなどで調べずに教科書の文章だけを使って、その英単語を日本語の意味と合わせてみました。
わかったかなという時は、紙に印刷された英語の言葉を持ってホワイトボードに書いてある日本語の隣に貼ることでした。このように、脳だけではなくて、体全体が言葉の意味を解けることに関心を持つことで、その英単語がさらに速く身についてきます。
難しい英単語でも楽しく覚えてきました！
In today’s “English Communication I” (1st years) class, we read about Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni salt lake in our textbook. There were a lot of difficult English words in the text, but we tried to match their meanings with the Japanese without looking them up on our smartphones and just by using the textbook. When someone thought they knew the answer, they had to pick up the English word printed on a piece of paper, and stick it on the board next to the Japanese meaning. In this way, we didn’t just use our brains, but our whole bodies were involved in trying to find out the meanings of the English words. This helps students become familiar with new vocabulary much quicker. It’s also a fun way to learn even difficult new vocabulary!
