【ボランティア】　スノーバスターズ　～雪かきボランティアで地域貢献～

　先日、生徒たちは今年度2回目となる雪かきボランティア・イベントを開催しました。今回のイベント実施にあたり、宣伝するポスターの作成からボランティアの募集、イベント予算の作成、さらにはどんな料理をどのように提供するかといった計画まで、あらゆる面を自分たちで計画しました。

　今回は、地元企業のボランティア、まちづくりセンターの職員、消防団員も参加しました。消防士のみなさんは、冬でも消防士たちが私たちの安全を守ってくれるように、消火栓から雪を取り除く正しい方法を教えてくれました。

　雪の中での1時間以上の重労働の後、みんなはミートソースパスタとアイスクリームをトッピングしたパンケーキの軽食を楽しみました。

　来年のスノー・バスターズの雪かきイベント、もっと多くのグループがボランティアとして参加してくれることを期待しています。

During the weekend, Clark students held their second snow shoveling volunteer event at our campus. Students planned all aspects of the event including: from making the posters to adverstise the event, recruiting volunteers, creating an event budget, and even planning what food to prepare and how to serve it!

For this second event, students were joined by volunteers from local companies, workers from the neighborhood center, and members of the volunteer firefighter brigade. The firefighters taught the students the proper way to remove snow from a firehydrant so that, even in the winter, the firefighters can help keep us all safe.

After over an hour of hard work in the snow, everyone enjoyed a light meal of meat sauce pasta, and pancakes with ice-cream topping.

It was a fantastic event and we are all looking forward to next years Snow Busters snow shoveling event, hopefully with even more groups joining in the event to volunteer with us!
