【学習】　第４回英語科教員対象英語教育セミナーを実施しました。

　8月1日（火）札幌大通校で、第４回英語科教員対象英語教育セミナーを開催しました。北海道大学から奥教授をお招きし、外国語授業におけるテクノロジー活用の歴史と、生徒が使用する適切な教材の選び方についてご講演いただきました。

　そのセミナーの中では、国際コースの三橋さんと石垣さんが、それぞれの英語学習法について発表しまし。学校や宿題でやっていることではなく、自分たちで発見した効果的な英語の勉強法についての発表です。
　三橋さんは、ファッション雑誌『VOGUE』のYouTube動画を使ってディクテーションの練習をし、リスニング力を高めていると紹介。石垣さんは英語のニュース記事を聞き、それに対する自分の意見を英語で書く。これは、様々な社会問題について英語で書いたり話したりする能力を向上させるために行っていると発表しました。

　参加した先生方の多くが、国際コースの生徒たちのプレゼンテーションを褒めてくれました。

This week we held our the 4th junior high school teacher seminar. We were lucky to have Professor Oku from Hokkaido University present on the history of technology use in the foreign language classroom and how to help select appropriate materials for student use.

Two of the International Course students, Ms. Mitsuhashi and Mr. Ishigaki also gave a presentation on their personal techniques for studying English. Their presentations were not about the work they do in school or for homework, rather the techniques they have discovered by themselves in order to study English effectively on their own! Ms. Mitsuhashi uses the fashion magazine Vogue’s YouTube videos to do dictation exercises and improve her listening skills. Mr. Ishigaki listens to ENglish news stories and then, in English, writes his opinions about the articles in English. He does this to improve his ability to write and talk about various social issues in English.

It was an informative and enjoyable event. Many of the teachers attending complimented the International Course students on their presentation. We are super proud of all the hard work Ms. Mitsuhashi and Mr. Ishikwa put into preparing for the event. Way to go!
