【授業】セントパトリックデイを題材に授業を行いました

Here’s a throwback to last month. One of the second grade English classes spent their lesson on March 17th learning about St. Patrick’s Day. After briefly discussing the holiday, they gathered in a rotating conversation circle and shared their opinions on holiday-related questions like this one: Would you rather go to Ireland for a week every summer for the next four years, or go to Ireland for four weeks this summer? Don’t forget to explain your decision!

3/17はセントパトリックデイ。「緑の日」とも呼ばれるアイルランドの祝日です。
2年生のとあるクラスでは、レイチェル先生がセントパトリックデイを題材に授業を行いました。
先生がどんな日なのかを簡単に説明した後、休日についてみんなで意見を交わしました。例えば、4週間アイルランドに行けるとしたら「1年にまとめて4週間滞在するか」「毎年1週間ずつアイルランドに行くのを4年間続けるか」どちらが良いかなど。様々なお題について自らの意見を理由と共に共有しました。
自分の意見を英語で筋道立てて説明する良い訓練になったのではないかと思います。
