【インターナショナルコース】Adam 先生による Test Skills の授業①

クラーク記念国際高等学校 東京キャンパス インターナショナルコース の Test Skills というクラスをご紹介します。このクラスでは、生徒それぞれの目標の実現に向けて、英検などの外部試験で最大限に力を発揮できるよう学び方や表現の秘訣を学んだり、有効な対策を鍛えたりしています。

英検準1級以上 / IELTS の授業を担当するカナダ出身のAdam先生より

One of the skills students need to pass the Eiken exams is to be able to describe and tell what is happening in pictures. In this writing lesson, we honed in on this skill by using pages from my own original comic book.

生徒たちが英検に合格するために必要なスキルのひとつは、何が起こっているのかを絵で説明し、伝えることができるようになることです。今回のライティングの授業では、私のオリジナル・コミックのページを使って、このスキルに磨きをかけました。

Describe what is going on in this three page story

I provided illustrations, comic book pages with blank word bubbles where students fill out what they think the characters are saying. Each student describes to the class their own rendition of the story, describing what is going on in this three page story. It was a fun but challenging lesson. 

私が用意したイラストやマンガのページには、空白の吹き出しがあり、生徒たちは登場人物が何を言っていると思うかを記入します。皆この3ページの物語で何が起こっているのかを、自分なりの表現でクラスに説明でき、楽しくもやりがいのある授業となりました。

Being able to explain a situation based on pictures while using good English are the skills that these students are improving on.
生徒たちは絵から状況を説明し、それを英語でうまく伝えるスキルを上達できています！
