【インターナショナルコース】高校生パーラメンタリーディベート世界交流大会2024 ⑧ FINAL debate with Southland Boys’ High School, New Zealand

1月29日〜2月10日に、高校生がパーラメンタリーディベート（英国議会方式の即興ディベート）を通して国際文化交流を行う大会（PDWC: Parliamentary Debate World Conference & Competition 2024）がオンラインで開催されました。クラーク記念国際高校東京キャンパスからは、インターナショナルコースの2, 3年生3名が参加しました！

ついに最終日、2月10日（土）に行われた、ニュージーランドの公立高校との決勝戦「Final Debate Round」の様子をお伝えします！

Formidable Southland Boys’ High School

Now, it was on to the final. We were debating against New Zealand, so our team members immediately became nervous. However, after five hours of preparation we entered the debate.

さあ、決勝戦です。ニュージーランドとのディベートだったので、チームメンバーは一気に緊張しました。しかし、5時間の準備の後、私たちはディベートに臨みました。

Champion of the PDWC 2024!

The Clark students were prepared, confident, polite, and strong. Waiting for the announcement of the winning team was a very stressful time for everybody involved. After a short time, the judge returned and announced that TEAM CLARK had won the debate and were the champions of PDWC 2024!

クラークの学生たちは準備万端で、自信にあふれ、礼儀正しく、強かった。優勝チームの発表を待つのは、関係者全員にとって非常にストレスのたまる時間でした。しばらくして審査員が戻ってきて、チーム・クラークがディベートで優勝し、PDWC2024のチャンピオンになったと発表しました！

A life-changing event

We could not be prouder of the students in the team; Miyuki Nakano, Sarah Rokutan, and Shizuki Ishizuka. I am sure this event is something they will remember for a very long time. Now, onto next year!
