“In this demo lesson, you will meet our friendly Clark students, who will help you, and work with you. We are going to challenge and enjoy an interactive writing lesson. Even though this is a fun, and basic level class, the techniques you will learn can be applied to higher level academic essay writing as well.”

このデモ・レッスンでは、フレンドリーなクラークの生徒があなたをサポートします。インタラクティブなライティングレッスンに挑戦し、楽しみましょう。このクラスは楽しく、基礎的なレベルですが、学ぶテクニックはより高いレベルのアカデミックなエッセイライティングにも応用できます。

こんにちは！私の名前はピーター・オコナーです。クラーク東京キャンパスで英語を教えています。7月20日のオープンキャンパスでは上級クラスを担当します。 クラークでの高校生活を考えてくださっていることをとても嬉しく思います。

I have been teaching academic writing to our students here for ten years, and I truly enjoy it everyday. In the lesson that you will experience with me, we will cover how to write an essay. It is not an easy process but once you get the hang of it, you will be able to work independently and create amazing essays suitable for EIKEN, TOEFL, IELTS, and university applications for Japanese universities and universities around the world.

アカデミック・ライティングを教え始めて10年になりますが、毎日がとても楽しいです。今回体験していただく授業では、エッセイの書き方について学びます。簡単な作業ではありませんが、一度コツをつかめば、英検、TOEFL、IELTS、日本の大学や世界の大学への出願に適した素晴らしいエッセイを自主的に作成できるようになります。

First, we will come up with ideas together for what to write about. Then, we will practice the structure of a basic essay, including how to write an introduction, as well as body paragraphs, and a conclusion. I am looking forward to seeing you in class.”

まず、何を書くか一緒にアイディアを考えます。そして、序論、本文、結論の書き方など、基本的なエッセイの構成を練習します。クラスでお会いできるのを楽しみにしています！
