【英語コミュニケーション I】ジンバブエ出身のウエンディ先生による英会話の授業

クラーク国際 東京キャンパスの教科学習は、生徒一人ひとりの習熟度に応じたクラスで授業を展開しています。1年生は木曜日の1, 2限に、英語コミュニケーションIの習熟度別授業で学んでいます。今回は、6段階中「A」のクラスの「英会話」の初授業の様子を、新たに加わったネイティブのウェンディ先生がご紹介します。

話すことを学ぶ：高校のコミュニケーション授業が重要な理由

Overall, high school communication classes are like a training ground for being a good communicator in the real world. By learning to talk well, listen actively, and communicate kindly, students are better prepared for whatever challenges they face in life.

高校のコミュニケーションの授業は、実社会で優れたコミュニケーターになるためのトレーニングの場のようなものだと思います。上手に話すこと、積極的に聞くこと、親身に伝えることを学ぶことで、生徒たちは人生でどんな困難に直面しても対応できるようになるでしょう。

Scattergories!

In this picture, students are working as a group to come up with as much vocabulary as they can for a game of ‘Scattergories’. In this creative-thinking game, they have to put vocabulary beginning with the same letter in different categories such as places, food, and animals.

この写真では、生徒たちがグループになって、「スキャッタゴリー」というゲームのためにできるだけ多くの語彙を考えています。 この創造的思考ゲームでは、同じ文字で始まる語彙（ボキャブラリー）を、場所、食べ物、動物などの異なるカテゴリーに入れなければなりません。

Discuss, debate and research

They get to discuss and debate about certain words and research their meanings. That helps them to get exposed to different vocabulary for better communication.

特定の単語について議論したり、意味を調べたりします、そうすることで、よりよいコミュニケーションのためにさまざまな語彙に触れることができます。
